Learning Support Centers
Introduction: Titles and program titles need to be constantly
redefined, updated, and restated so that significant others in
postsecondary education, like administrators, faculty, and public
officials are aware of their meanings and the impact that these
programs as defined can have and do have on their campuses. Within
this section are different definitions of the major academic support
terms that are used by college and university administrators,
faculty, and staff.
Model Learning Support Centers: A description
of some centers that can be considered as models for administrators
who are looking to develop a new center or to modify an existing
one. (In Progress)
Learning
Support Center Mission Statements: In this section are
links to Mission Statements of Learning Support Centers. The
mission statements range from single sentence to multi-paragraph
statements.Some centers also have, in addition to their mission
statements, a list of its goals and a vision statement.
Best Practices for
Learning Support Centers Handout: A revised list of
the Innovative Educator Webinar Best Practices presentation (May
7, 2009) developed for a post conference workshop at the Golden
NCLCA Conference (October 3, 2009).
